Tigers set to face Bearcats, ranked number 24 in country, in season opener

Towson opens season with a highly anticipated matchup against the Cincinnati Bearcats on Aug. 31

The Towson University Tigers football team will open the 2024 season on the road against the No. 24 Cincinnati Bearcats on Aug. 31 at Nippert Stadium. The game will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2017, when the Bearcats won 31-21. The Tigers are coming off a 7-5 season in 2022, while the Bearcats finished 9-4 and won the AAC Championship Game. Cincinnati is ranked No. 24 in the Associated Press preseason poll, while Towson is receiving votes. The Tigers will be led by senior quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome, who passed for 2,359 yards and 20 touchdowns last season. The Bearcats will be led by senior quarterback Evan Prater, who passed for 2,884 yards and 27 touchdowns last season. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
